About Fasami
Fasami is a Lagos-based womenswear brand founded by Nigerian designer Kayode Matthew Fasami. Rooted in a deep understanding of femininity, individuality, and self-expression, Fasami was born out of a desire to create clothing that resonates with the everyday woman—pieces that allow her to live boldly, beautifully, and authentically. The brand offers a contemporary interpretation of classic silhouettes, fusing romantic elegance with modern edge through carefully crafted garments that are both expressive and wearable.
All Fasami garments are handmade to order in the brand’s Lagos-based studio. The studio operates under a strict slow fashion philosophy, prioritizing quality, craftsmanship, and environmental responsibility over mass production. No garment is pre-made; instead, each order is cut, sewn, and finished individually with great attention to detail. The brand sources its fabrics locally, supporting Nigerian textile markets and artisans, and works in limited fabric runs to ensure exclusivity and reduce waste. Offcuts are creatively repurposed into accessories like scrunchies, scarves, face masks, and headbands, reinforcing the brand’s commitment to the circular economy.

Our Story
Launched officially in 2020, Fasami embodies the spirit of a new generation of Nigerian design—one that embraces culture, sustainability, and craftsmanship. The brand’s identity is shaped by bold yet tender silhouettes, fluid movement, and a play on contrasts: strong yet soft, structured yet easy. Every piece is designed to be versatile and empowering, offering women clothing that is as functional as it is fashionable, whether for work, play, or celebration.
Our Philosophy
The aesthetic of Fasami is defined by a timeless yet playful sensibility—where femininity is reimagined through asymmetry, structure, and softness. Collections are often marked by statement sleeves, flowing lines, and delicate tailoring that celebrate the body without constricting it. Whether it’s a custom-made dress or a ready-to-wear piece from a seasonal drop, each garment invites women to express their mood, story, and individuality through clothing.
The brand’s vision is deeply influenced by Kayode’s upbringing in a creative household. Raised by a mother who worked as a fashion designer and a late grandmother who was a skilled seamstress, Kayode was immersed in the world of fabrics and forms from an early age. Through years of observation and self-teaching, he developed foundational skills in sketching, pattern cutting, sewing, creative direction, and visual merchandising—skills that now inform his multidimensional approach to design. Fasami is, in many ways, a tribute to this intergenerational legacy of craftsmanship and creativity.
Today, Fasami continues to grow its presence in Nigeria’s evolving fashion landscape, gaining recognition for its thoughtful approach to design and its ability to balance bold artistic vision with wearability. As the brand expands, it remains deeply committed to empowering women through fashion, championing sustainability, and telling uniquely African stories through every stitch.
